Concert Review.. free essay sample
Concert Review Nicole Ho I watched the concert on February 26. 2011 at 7:pm_ The name of the music group was Toronto Seasonality. And the artistic director was Matthew Chickasaws. There were 10 soloists in total- Leslie Seaworthy, Daniel Has, Nicole L, Amadeus Kabukis-Houston, Annie Chou, Lily Chaplin, Sarah Evolves, Daniel Teeming, Kara Song Park and Anna Overdevelop. The concert was performed at the Isabel Bade Theatre which Is one of the most popular additions to the architectural renewal of the university of Torsos downtown campus. There are a total number of 500 seats. There were approximately 450 seats occupied. Some of the seats are on fiat floor and some of seats are on the balcony. It was a small semi-professional performing group that consists of around 28 members, yet there was a wide range of instrumentation. There were 9 violins, 3 violas, 3 cellos, 1 bass, 1 flute, 2 oboe, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 French horns, 2 trumpets and 1 percussion. The performers were dressed very neatly. The concert as a Whole was entertaining. It was not directed toward any age group. The programs timing and pacing were pretty good. The program went smoothly and everything was on schedule. Overall, the group performed very well. All of them had a good posture. And a good tone. However, I suggest that they could have fewer violins, or more of other instruments. The group played ten pieces throughout the concert. The pieces were the Introduction and Tarantella by Pablo Sarasota, Pepco Capricious Pop. 62 by PeterTchaikovsky, Violin Concerto In D major by Johannes Brahms, Barcarole In F major by Fernery Chopin, Piano Concerto no. 2 in F major by Fernery Chopin, Clarinet Concerto no. L, in F by Carl Maria von Weber, Caprice no. 24 in A minor by Niccole Paginating, Violin Concerto no. 2 by Henrys Wienies, Etude-Tableaus Pop. 39 no. 9 by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Plano Concerto no. 3 In C minor by Ludwig van Beethoven. The setting was effective acoustically and atmospherically suitable. There were no special effects at all. Yet the lighting provided adequate visibility and heightened the DOD appropriately. And there were no sets and costumes. The audiences were usually adults. The audiences were intensely interested. They responded consistently to the performance and the applause was hearty and spontaneous. During the intermission and after the performance, the audience members did discuss the performance enthusiastically. To sum up, like the performances because the group was well performed and the 5th Toronto Assassinate Concerto Competition. If they can enhance the setting and the lighting throughout the performances, this concert will be more entertaining.
